What Is FEP?
FEP (Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene) is a high-performance fluoropolymer coating within the Teflon® family. It provides many of the same benefits as PTFE, including excellent non-stick properties, low friction, chemical resistance and corrosion protection, while offering a smoother finish and greater transparency in some applications.
FEP melts and flows during the coating process, allowing it to form a continuous, uniform surface. This makes it an excellent choice for applications where a smooth finish and easy product release are essential.
Key Properties of FEP

Key benefits include:
- Excellent non-stick properties to reduce product build-up.
- Smooth, uniform coating finish for consistent performance.
- Very low coefficient of friction to minimise wear and improve movement.
- Outstanding chemical resistance to many acids, alkalis and solvents.
- Excellent corrosion protection for metal components.
- Continuous operating temperatures up to approximately 205°C.
- Easy-to-clean surface that helps reduce maintenance time.
- Good electrical insulation properties for specialised industrial applications.
Common Components That Can Be FEP Coated
Many industrial components can benefit from an FEP coating, including but not limited to:

TANKS

PIPING & PIPE LINING

DRIP TRAYS

THERMOFORMING MOULDS

FILTER HOUSINGS & BASKETS

IMPELLERS
Why Industries Choose FEP

FEP is often selected for applications that require a smooth, consistent coating with excellent release properties and reliable chemical resistance. While it has a lower maximum operating temperature than PTFE and PFA, it performs exceptionally well in many industrial environments where easy cleaning, product release and corrosion protection are priorities.
For businesses seeking a dependable fluoropolymer coating that improves equipment performance and reduces downtime, FEP provides an effective solution across food processing, packaging, manufacturing and chemical industries.
